
With all the recent changes in the MMA world, the most exciting fighter in the soon to be merged WEC will pave the path for a new Title in the UFC. Jose Aldo (18-1 MMA) looks to defend his 145lb. belt against Josh Grispi (14-1 MMA) at UFC 125.
Roy Nelson was pulled off the card due to an injured Shane Carwin, leaving the UFC with no replacement fighter to fill in. This is the first post merger fight that will feature WEC fighters on a UFC PPV card. The last WEC card will be WEC 53 in Arizona on December 16th and will be headlined by a WEC lightweight title bout between Ben Henderson and Anthony Pettis. The winner of will move onto a UFC/WEC unification fight between the winner of Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard later in 2011.
